Just as we got back into school, the weekend arrived and we are back together enjoying time at home. Mom and I wanted to take you out to play today. The weather is already showing signs of Autumn as it doesn’t get too hot until well into the afternoon. We just went out to play in the neighborhood. I put the seat back on your scooter because I think it was a mistake listening to mom’s idea of letting you try standing to ride it. You never really got enough practice rising it sitting down so it is best we go back to that for a while. You did ride it some, but didn’t seem very excited. You also weren’t very interested in playing withbyour bubble machine either which was a surprise. Mom turned it on anyway and as I ran around in the bubbles you did get a little more excited. But, you didn’t seem to be enjoying yourself so I suggested we move from the basketball courts to the playground. You were much happier there. You are very good at climbing the stairs and I don’t worry at all about needing to catch you on them now. You went down both slides many times, and of course eventually decided to climb them instead. There was a little girl, a bit older than you that was being a pain in the ass. For some reason she kept trying to block everything that you wanted to play. There were other kids there but for some reason she just wanted to be a brat to you. It wasn’t a big deal until she started trying to slide down the slide on you and I had to actually block her myself. Her grandfather was completely ignoring her and it’s just part of life, especially here. Some people are crappy but you handled it well and never reacted badly towards her. Another thing I was proud of was that while I had you sit to take a water break I realized my water was across the playground but wanted to drink as well. I decided to ask you if you could sit nicely and wait for me to get it. You understood and agreed. You sat perfectly and kept dinking your water without worry. Its great that you can understand those situations. I dont remember if I mentioned it but there was a similar instance when I left you on our bed while I got something from the living room. We played a long time and headed home to spend the rest of the day indoors and as usual.
